Kai Cenat’s VIVET staged its debut runway presentation in New York on September 12. A ScubaRyan clip from the event captured Cenat saying that, whether the label succeeds or fails, he wants people to recognize the work and commitment behind building it.

VIVET moved from internet rollout to runway

The debut marked a significant step for a brand Cenat has been developing publicly for years. Reporting on the show says VIVET presented Collection 1 in Lower Manhattan, with Cenat using the presentation to frame the label as a long-term creative project rather than conventional creator merchandise.

The show was also distributed like a creator event. Cenat livestreamed the presentation to his existing audience, allowing the runway to function as both a fashion launch and a major piece of live programming.

Cenat is asking to be judged on the commitment

In the clip surfaced by ScubaRyan, Cenat said that even if VIVET ultimately fails, he wants people to acknowledge that he fully committed to learning the process and bringing the brand to life.

That framing matters because the creator-to-brand pipeline is changing. The most ambitious creators are no longer limiting themselves to licensed merchandise; they are trying to build standalone businesses that can survive outside the attention cycle of a stream.

The next test is whether VIVET becomes bigger than Kai Cenat

Attention is not the problem for VIVET. The harder question is repeat demand: whether customers return for future collections because of the product itself, not only because Cenat is attached to it.

For the streaming industry, the launch is another example of creators using live audiences as distribution for businesses that sit well beyond traditional media.
